Mrs. Lecarreaux's Classroom
Welcome to 4-2!
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

I hope you had an enjoyable summer. I would like to warmly welcome you to fourth grade!  I am
looking forward to a fantastic school year working with your child.  It is my intention to
establish a good working relationship with you and your child.  My philosophy is to create a
positive learning environment for your child in order to provide a positive educational
experience.

Throughout the year I plan to provide you with numerous opportunities to visit our classroom
and actively get involved in your child’s education.  I believe that working together to establish
good communication provides an important consistency between home and school.  You know your
child better than anyone, so if you have any suggestions, ideas, or concerns please feel free to
share them with me.

This will be an exciting year for your child. They will learn about many new things and will be
given the opportunity to develop their own personal talents and abilities.  We will study Reading,
Writing, Cursive, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Health.  Your child will learn
organizational and time management skills that will enable them to become independent
learners.  I believe that literacy is a critical classroom component.  As you know, the
elementary years are the foundation for your child’s reading enhancement.  As they grow and
develop, the goal is to have them build their skills as an active reader and writer.  It is
important to motivate your child to read anytime and everywhere and to reflect upon what they
have read.   Together we can instill the importance of reading in your child’s daily life.  I am
eager to begin the school year and to make it a fabulous one.

Respectfully,

China Lecarreaux-Platzer
